Damaged or Lost Books
Damaged books, of any kind, please return them to the library for repair. We encourage our students to come and tell us, ASAP, if a book gets damaged. We will do everything possible to avoid charging for materials and will repair them first. If it is assessed that the damage to the book is too severe, (to be placed back in circulation) a note will be sent home first. Then, a charge will appear on School cash online and a replacement book will be ordered. Families are also welcome to purchase a replacement book and send in with their child.
Lost books will be searched for by library staff and students until the end of the school year. No fee will be charged until the end of the year, after inventory. Students with lost items, will be allowed to get a book from the “book nook” or “Library Tree” until the item(s) are found and returned. If a lost book is found during another school year the book is yours to keep. There is not a fine for overdue books. We encourage students to renew their books when they wish to keep reading their treasure longer.
